This 2D project on Eastern fringes of the Grand Erg Oriental covered sand dunes, gravel plains and transition zone between the two. The view looking south in this photo shows the steep slip face of the 80m high linear dunes in the area which had to be ascended. To appreciate the scale, note the Toyota which is just visible at the end of the track.

Our involvement in this project was to supervise the processing of a Vibroseis survey acquired in 1998, together with 1978 vintage dynamite data. As in many 2D projects, the key lines were turned around quickly for preliminary interpretation in order to position the rest of the program. Consistant statics, stacking velocities and signal processing of the dynamite and Vibroseis data were essential to confidently map the structures in the area.
