Survey Design Phase Two: Optimisation
The provisional design from Phase One is refined to incorporate details such as source and receiver arrays, infill planning and methods of weathering control. Any field trials which were conducted following Phase One are analysed using proprietary software to measure signal to noise ratio and bandwidth. The data processing aspects are analysed in detail, so that the combined responses of the acquisition and processing systems will be optimised in the final data volume. Pre-tender enquiries may be conducted with contractors to establish the availability of any unusual field equipment. The result is a detailed set of specifications and procedures for the acquisition, field QC and processing of the survey including:
Acquisition scope of work and field parameters
Acquisition technical standards and QC procedures
Infield processing flow and supporting information such as velocity models
Project plan for main centre processing
